Many thanks to the volunteers who spent their Saturday at the garden creating the new guilds! Because we had some concerns about the drainage in that part of the garden, we planted only three guilds, but they’re gorgeous! Thanks to Cem Akin and the Fruit Tree Planting Foundation, we now have three apple trees and a number of berry bushes — currants, gooseberries, raspberries, strawberries (thanks Renee!) and more. If these trees do well, we’ll plant the rest of the trees this fall.
